Is a Tastecard worth the money?

A Tastecard will give 50% discount in restaurants – but our reader is not sure whether it will it be £80 well spent

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday's paper.

This week's question

A friend keeps going on about her Tastecard which for £80 a year gives her a 50% discount in restaurants, or 2 for 1 deals. We eat out quite a bit but like to try new places. Will it be £80 well spent or do you end up eating a lot of pizza? There must be something about this I'm missing?

What are your thoughts?
